I've been in and out of the Porsche scene for 30+ years and have been in one of these cars. I also had a young lady friend w/ a brand new turbo cab back in 1989 that was generous w/ the keys. She never felt like driving and let me drive it all night including long Malibu runs, canyons, etc. I can remember being not all that impressed w/ it in stock form compared to other 930s I'd driven. Maybe it was heavier(?)
997 turbos have 200+ HP on that car and it feels like more than that. The G-forces of a new turbo on the track will make a lot of passengers puke. The grip/power/braking is devastating, even when compared to other cars in its class.
Everyone is entitled to their personal preference in cars/bikes/spaceships/whatever but when people with old 911SCs or similar just blow-off this car it's like someone w/ a 1980 Yamaha Seca knocking a new R1 or Ducati 1098S (that they've never ridden) because "I like my old POS better..."

Has anybody blown off this car on this thread (except to say that value for dollar vs a MC may be better)? I don't know about other guys, but I've driven one a couple weeks ago, not on track, but not loafing either.
