Respectfully, if you're mowed down by a soccer mom while using your 500 hp Porsche to it's potential, I suspect you wouldn't fare much better...maybe worse.
Lastly, I don't think anyone asserted that bikes were for everyone. If an adrenaline rush is your goal, and you don't have $115+K to throw around (and you're not "afraid" of soccer moms while riding) a bike is, in fact, a no brainer.
