Curt--- Sportier exhaust is coming. I have a Cabrio so I have all the noise I need right now. Need the throatier sound though....ah well maybe next year.

I have a 1987 Carerra Cabrio.
The existing system was installed by myself in around 1996:
Kenwood In-Dash CD
Front Drs: Infinity Kappa Component (6.25 Inch, sep tweeter)
Rear Side Panels: Infinity Kappa 4"
Amplifier: Profile 4 x 50
My biggest problem right now is bass---or lack there of. In an open car at normal freeway speeds you cannot hear any. The sound is distorted and lacks any punch. Also the front door speakers are so much more efficient than the little 4" rear panels that I wonder why I put them in at all.
When the car is closed (not that often---long trips only) the sound is a little better, but still in need of impovement.
I looked at the Rod Birch subwoofer enclosure that sits behind the seats but frankly I think the appearance in the car leaves something to be desired (not necessarily quality, just the way it looks).
I have purchased the RS America luggage dump and would like to mount some subwoofer(s) in that to give me the bass I am looking for. It basically takes the place of the rear seats, which in a Cab are totally worthless anyway. I am not looking for window vibrating bass that disrupts pacemakers, just some solid punch to let me know it's there.
I have thought about doing this project myself as well, but I will in all likely hood need a separate amp to drive the sub(s) and the wiring/crossovers could get tricky. I think I only have one set of pre-outs on the head unit so I may have to wire the amps in series to get the signal to the subs. Around this point you are getting tothe outer limits of my stereo installation knowledge.
So that's the deal......anyone done something like this before or have any suggestions (Besides removing the fuse and listening to the motor???
Or should I seek professional help (for the stereo installation.....)
