There is the problem right there. The price argument is made without consideration to the specs.
What I did is simple.
Go to apple.com and pick the base machine, specs are all published, processor, ram, HD, video card, all the laptops have BT, cameras. OS is 64 bit. It's all there in black and white.
Go to any other manufacturers site, pick a machine, don't start with a $200 box because it won't have the upgrade path to get you there.
Start customizing.
