I have the same style Yellowbird bumpers as you. Running my '75 Carrera style tail on the rear with a 3.5" rubber lip up front has given me a nice balance at the track, only getting light in the front over 120. I'm switching to the 3.8RS wing shortly and have ordered a completely different front valance to match the new rear downforce.
My research (conversations with other who've done this) suggests that the front lip will not offer sufficient downforce to match the rear, in fact the lip creates zero downforce while the 3.8RS tail will add downforce at higher track speeds. To equal the rear, a front splitter will be essential but trying to come up with something that works with the front Yellowbird while not looking cobbled together was impossible so this weekend the Yellowbird front will be coming off to be replaced by a TRE piece with moulded in splitter. Last thing I want at triple digit track speeds is a car that's too light in the front end.
