I realize I'm very lucky to live where I do in regards to heating in a 911. I have read so many stories about the Winter being so uncomfortable while driving the P-Cars, but when I'm in mine, even when it's "cold" for us, say, low 20's, as long as I am moving above 35 or 40 mph all I need is the heat controls pulled up to about half way. Otherwise, the hot air forced into the cabin will about run you out! From the foot wells, that is.
Prolonged idling would make it cool off in the cabin, but I try to avoid sitting in traffic.
