Ok.....I am have to weigh in for the other side....I LOVE BIG BUTTS I CANNOT LIE....I also have an 87 Carrera...I was told it was one of the nicest ones around...Not concourse...but a very nice street car....I made small changes to it for a couple years but was never really happy with it....So this winter I decided to take a plunge and make it the wide body I have dreamed of owning since I was a kid. And that was a LONG time ago. You can check out my progress at "yet another rendition begins" Do what makes you happy. Its your car. Its your money. The project can be done on a budget. Ask me how I know. I am NOT an owner with a lot of money to have somebody else build the car of my dreams. I am not interested in making my car a perfect clone of a factory race car. My project took on a life of its own when I found a set of fenders here for a reasonable price...then the quarters...then a phone call to find a set of bumpers I liked...then another phone call to have a set of wheels made...then more parts hunting from here...and there. I cannot afford to add a full race suspension. I won't be taking this car on the track anyway. I cannot afford to have a high dollar interior...But I found some seats hear and redid my interior to something I like. Will my car make it into a magazine...NO....that was not the intent of my build. I wanted to make the car into MY vision. I wanted to do it on a very tight budget. It can be done. Hopefully I will have my car back on the road in a few weeks. When the rendition will hopefully be completed.
