The new corbon DPX seems to expand a whole lot more. The buffalo bore +P round uses a bonded core Gold dot JHP. Very nasty. When i used to have a .380 i used the same round you use now. The "classic" cor bon line is loaded with 90gr Sierra JHP. Very solid, but because it's not bonded core they tend to fragment(not violently, so no extra damage is added) and cost you some expansion vs the latest DPX and other next generation JHP loadings.
Here's some good ballistics goo tests:
GoldenLoki.com
The Sierra corbon gets 9 and a quarter inches of penetration with .46 cal expansion. The new Corbon DPX round gets 10.9" penetration and .645" expansion. That's actually better than many 9mm Parabellum loadings. Velocity and bullet weight is the same in both corbon offerings. The difference in performance is the solid copper Barnes hollowpoint in the DPX.
I'll try and find some tests for the buffalo bore. It's 90 gr JHP load is 1200fps and 290+ fpe. (probably obtained from a walther ppk)
Buffalo Bore also has a 100 gr, 1150 fps 290+fpe hard cast lead flat nose Elmer Keith style hunting bullet that would be the obvious choice in a trail gun load for anyone with a .380 acp. I'd be stunned if that one doesn't get over 20" of penetration.
