I pulled my transmission out last night and it appears that the input shaft (from the shifter linkage) is binding and not allowing me to separate the housing from the intermediate plate. Any ideas if this is common? Any ideas who rebuilds them and a range of cost. Is it better for me to find a good used one to put in and save the trans for a future owner? While I'm at it, any sense converting over to a 5spd? Do I have to switch over a lot of things for that to occur? BTW.. all the gears are in good working order. Usual consistent wear but nothing on the bottom of the case (teeth, etc.)
