I remember reading this but don't remember all details.
Somewhere in the early fifties a guy in a Porsche 365 passed a police control point with a speed of 180 km/h, which was unheard of in those days!
The police officers did not even attempt to follow him but they did call it through to their colleagues who were posted some 30 km further.
When the guy reached the second control post, he saw them in time and slowed down.
Because it was only 11 minutes ago that they received the call the police men did not think that this was the guy that was speeding.
The Porsche driver stopped and was let through. The policemen said that they were waiting for some other guy in an white car that was speeding, and that this guy would be there soon....
That guy must have had the hardest time hiding the grin on his face....
