Coming back through the border has been the worst, most demeaning part of almost every overseas trip. One time one male officer was acting like a jerk and I whispered, "Welcome home to America" a little too loudly to my companion. He have me a ration of shhheet and we ended up at the back of the line. It's bad management and bad supervision. If management had a will to make the border officers treat people with respect they could do it.
