Momentarily stranded in Nebraska
On our way to the rally, in Grand Island. After 500 trouble free miles, parked in front of the motel, booked room and the bike won't start.
Details:
99 r1100s 126,000 miles.
Essentally I went to start it, turned key and nothing happened, no lights, fuel pump, nada.
Fiddled with the side stand a few times, could get all the lights to light up and fuel pump on, then when I hit the starter button there's a single click and everything goes dark.
I did get it to light up (fuel pump, normal lights, etc) a few more times but it still goes dark upon hitting the starter.
I'm thinking either battery 02/08 (BMW) or sidestand switch issue.
Any thoughts? My fiancée isn't pleased, and I'm tapping on my iPhone when I should be sleeping!
