T&G pine. Attach a 1" mounting strip to the post and the house. You can cut curved sections to match the roof line out of a 1 X 6. Then nail the T&G to it. Fill the 1" space with a 1" foam board and cover the inside with more T&G pine. Stain the T&G to match your house and then a weather pruf UV finish.

Fairly easy to build, won't cost a lot and the two layers of T&G & the foam should block out his chants.
