All wheels have embedded electric motors for final drive, so I guess some kind of smart electronics should be in control of power distribution.
Cylindrical object is a capacitor. As this is some kind of quasi-hybrid it could be used as buffer (like instead of the clutch), but more importantly i thought it would look cool.
