The clutch life is incredibly dependent on the driving situation. There are cars with 80K miles and clutches like new... then there are cars with 35K that are slipping.

I'd say that if the clutch still grabs OK and doesn't slip under any conditions, forgo the clutch job.

If it is slipping, even a bit, replace it. The expense will be offset in the increased value of the car when you go to sell it for sure.
