912 muffler sleeves
Restoring my 1969 912. Exhaust system is in good ?original condition. Muffler has two sleeves, one at each end,~12" long. These surround the muffler closely, with little air gap, they are loose, and look like big rattle makers, but too tight to provide any cooling. They must have some mystery function. I'm sure someone knows. Thanks, Bob Prentice
