OK - here you go - if you are really interested in moving to Florida - I'd recommend you narrow your search and number 1 figure out where you want to live. I personally would not live in South Florida - I've been offered jobs there - There and LA - I'm not going - sorry.
I'd live in Jacksonville - maybe the spacecoast down to Ft. Lauderdale - probably not that far down though. I would not live in Orlando - I had offices over there for a number of years and had ALOT of issues with drugs -
I recommend to everyone that has more than a few years of experience to set up a profile - DETAILED in linkedin. Join some industry specific interest groups - connect with old workmates - get a few recommendations from peers, old supervisors, etc.
Join facebook - and do the same - just more on a social basis - not as much business specific - but do the same thing but connect with old school chums - find out of anybody is already in Florida that can help you.

I'd also recommend that once you figure out where you want to live - you go and rent a PO box AND get a cell phone with a local number. I can tell you first hand that MANY FL employers do not waste their time with people from outside the area.
