Eat a decent diet overall. Don't cut everything out. Take small steps and still eat the food you like. Just eat a little less food until things even out. We are all prone to eating too much food (ie habits, marketing, hunger).

You have to do some form of exercise, atleast 30 mins/day three days a week.

Keep cutting back on the food until you are not full all the time. You can't jump off a cliff with the diet thing and lose tons of weight suddenly. You will gain it back as soon as you stop the extreme habits. Do it slowly and consciously and it works.
