Morphine sucks. I am just a sensitive guy, morphine upsets my system and kept me from eating for five days in the hospital.
Luckly for me my wife is a nurse anesthetist and a very good advocate for me. It is great to have someone on your side who understands the medical system and how things work. Her drug knowledge helped to finally get things sort so I could eat and go home. It was fun to watch her make a suggestion to the surgeon's assistant. He said that was not what they normally do for pain but in my case normal was not working. He checked with the surgeon and they agreed to try her suggestion and it did work. She handled it well, no one's toes got stepped on and I got to go home.
