pulling the trans is not a big deal (though you don't have to pull it to do a clutch, so i don't know what that was about) - 8 hrs in and out
not sure if that seal will come out in place or not - probably better to pull the trans so as to get a better cleaning done anyway
you can reseal it yourself - not a huge job
that being said, if you have it out, this is the time to have it checked out and synchros changed and pinion bearing done - at that mileage, the box is likely due for an overhaul
california motorsports is the best around on these boxes - they are in scottsdale now, but have a deal with yellow freight, so it's quick and easy
