My dad took me to Kindergarten on the back of his bike on his way to work. I was a big kid and had no problems reaching the pegs of his brand new RD200 when I was 4. At 16 I got my first bike, which we together fully restored and overhauled. I couldn't wait to finally get my license at 18. Same summer, he and I were out on a trip together, first time on different bikes. And we still go on big trips together, 22 years later.

If there is the interest to go on the back, and they can reach the pegs, don't hold out on em. It'll plant a seed that will last both of you the rest of your lives.
