Ha, love this, and I'll bite. My car story starts from a young age, I was always obsessed with anything with an engine. All I wanted was to race kart's but my dad never let me. I turned 16 and got my mom's old z3, which ironically was the cheapest car for my parents to insure me on at the time. Then I started autocross, which snowballed into DE's, and then Time Attack. By the end of the Z3 era it was pretty heavily modified with full GC suspension with spring rates that should never be on a street car and a spare set of R comps. After that I got into Karting finally and loved it. However, the day I got my TaG after I realized shifters was a terrible idea I found out I finally got into the Air Force Academy after 2 years of trying. The next two years I didn't have a car while at USAFA. Then my parents got me a car. It was my neighbor's old volvo T5-r in that obnoxious yellow color they came in. I was not a big fan, it was too boring and practical, not really my style.
Then one night I was wasting some time on craigslist and I came across this ad for an 87 911 at a dealership in Denver. I decided to go check it out for the hell of it. Never have I fallen in love with a car until this 911. Just the moment walking in and seeing it I knew it was something special. Ironically it was flanked by a few Ferrari's and other possibly, and some may argue, nicer Porsche's even a Noble m12 and Pantera, but for some reason this little red 87 stood out in a sea of exotics. The guy at the dealership went and started it up and it was unreal. Once I took it out for a test drive I knew it was game over, I was going to try to work out some way to get this car.
A week later I worked out a deal and was even able to trade in the obnoxious yellow Volvo. I took delivery and was basically euphoric. Then went to my first autocross and things snowballed again. The car has all new suspension FG bumpers and the usual track day goodies.
I have never been happier with a car, and can't wait for the love affair to continue!
