I've been exploring different rebuild options for my '83 930. I know porsche engine rebuilds aren't usually synonymous with the terms "on a budget", but I'm not one of the rich guys, and have more time than money, so i figured I would throw a couple questions out there to help me possibly start piecing things together.
First - Is there any reason I couldn't use some early 3.6 100mm cylinders on my 3.3 case? Assuming they're not out of round, and have been replated or don't need replating, why wouldn't i be able to use something like:
Porsche 911 100mm 3.6 Nikasil Cylinders - eBay (item 220611267363 end time Dec-20-10 17:29:34 PST) ?
OR am i better off with something like:
Porsche 911 100mm Aluminum Cylinder & Piston Kit - eBay (item 350420841271 end time Jan-06-11 12:37:43 PST)
