The people I met were nice folks but took their college football very seriously.
A few of them had good senses of humor, they told me some very funny LSU jokes.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up for Knoxville. I have the flag and the crap on the back of my truck, much of my wardrobe is orange and white. Guilty as charged.
For pure, unadulterated, out-of-control fans though, I'd pit Alabama-Auburn fans against anybody. I've seen coworkers almost come to blows over Alabama-Auburn arguments (I lived in Alabama for over 20 years). The problem is that 99% of all Alabama/Auburn fans have never even set foot on a college campus, yet they talk as if they are personally involved in every game...
