OK, I've got the car on jackstands and I've been doing some playing. The wheel-to-wheel distance is the same on both sides, so the frame is in fact straight. That's the good news. The bad news is that the left fender is most definitely bent and will need to be replaced.
I'd like to get the car fixed soon, so waiting for a pre-owned fender to turn up is out of the question, really. New is crazy expensive, $1130 or so. Fibreglass is $600. What is the problem with using fibreglass on a daily driver? The price difference makes it look very attractive, especially considering the fact that I can then sell the undamaged fender to offset my costs.
I'm certainly going to be getting a fibreglass bumper cover - $350 vs. $1150 for OE (not including the cost of replacing my broken fog lamp, which I wouldn't have to with fibreglass (and I never use the fog lamps anyway).
Unfortunately, there're no Porsche body shops around here. Or anywhere near around here. Therefore, I'd like to do it myself, rather than pay someone lots of money who has just as much experience with 911s as I do... I'll be paying for painting, obviously.
How hard is it to change fenders? How do I go about doing it? The bumper was pleasantly easy, but the fender looks... less easy. Anyone have any tips/tricks?
Thanks again!
