I spoke with one company that remanufactures KKK turbos, and they said the benifits of the hot side being ceramic coated are definitely worth doing. If you want the contact for the guy that has it done out here in California, PM me. You need to be sure the proper, High temp ceramic paint coating is used. As there are two grades, one good to around 1000 Degrees F. and the other good to 1800-2000 degrees F, and that is what is needed on Turbo exhaust, due to the high heat, from the backpressure. To get just the Turbo housing done its going to cost you around 150-200 I suspect.
Hope this helps....
I am getting ready to have all of my exhaust Ceramic coated, been meaning to get it sent out for a good month, but been to busy with other stuff and its prevented me from taking all the parts back off the car after fit check.... I suspect its going to cost around 400-600 to have all the pieces coated, and thats with the hook-up price, I was a bit concerned with holding all the heat in on the J pipe and fatiguing the metal, but I am going to go for it, as the reduced heat on all the other parts around the exhaust will be a big gain, and keeping more heat in the J pipe, will only help spool the turbo up... here is a few pics of everything prepped...
