I'm not sure I did this right the first time tacking it on to an old thread, so here goes again.
I need to replace my antenna (manual, driver's side). It's in the no-man's land just forward of the door where human hands don't go, and I'm trying to do it without removing the door. This is what I see, looking at the top where the antenna wire attaches to the mast:

Trouble is the bracket that holds the bottom of the antenna housing to the body. I have the lead wire disconnected from the antenna and the lower bracket loose, but I can't see a way to remove the antenna. It won't move high enough to get free from the lower bracket. All I can think of is to bend the bracket far enough so I can move the antenna sideways out of the bracket, which may be hard given the limited access and the stoutness of the bracket.
I presume at that point the antenna will come out the gap between the front of the door and the rear edge of the body. At this point I'm not even sure of that, but it looks like it might work.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
