1983 porsche 944 STUMPED!
First and foremost thank you for allowing me to join this amazing forum full of expertise and helpfull posts, ive been a reader for about 3 months now but as of today i became a member because i dont know anyone that can help me with my 944! ive always owned lowriders so this has been the biggest change for me.
okay. it ran great everyday. then one day i pulled over to use the phone (shut car off) after talking, it wouldnt start. opened the hood and the possitive battery lead was smoking. after further investigation and a long walk home to get my tools i re connected the positive lead with a cleaner, uncoroded section of the positive lead. bang! she fired up and ran great. then one night, later after driving all day. it wouldnt start. just kept turning over! juice didnt seem to be the problem because it was a steady turn over (no dieing battery sound ) realized vacum hoses were extremly old and brittle when i checked on and it broke at the T by the fuel pressure regulators. i replaced those, checked the spark plug lead for spark, and nothing happened. i put a skrewdriver in the end and put it close to a ground. also couldnt hear the fuel pump very well. as its just me fixing it so i have to try and start it aswell. ive removed air cleaner and checked the acv? i think its called? (the plate that can get gunked up over time )
any suggestions? please help shes my daily driver and i dont want to part with it!
thanks again
sorry if i sound completly unknowing lol
sincerely chris
