Another 915 "sloppy shifter" thread

Hi all,

I'll soon be sorting out this issue in my newly acquired '80 911 SC. I'll replace all the bushings they show here on Pelican. However the issue I'm concerned with is the shifter is not "centering" itself (i.e. you can move it to the position between 1st and 2nd and it will stay there). Basically it will flop around from the neutral position to the position between 1st and 2nd. Am I looking at more than bushings? I haven't pulled it apart yet but what should I expect?

Also, the 1st gear synchro is toast. I see that this is a common problem on the 915. Should I pull that out and have it replaced or just leave it as is?

TIA!
