Since you have not had your "eureka!" moment and posted [B]solved[B]...
Help me. It may be something very obvious.
If it is not the fuel, I can only suggest the most basic quesions for a "no start" situation.
Sorry if you have tried or heard these before.
Did you replace the fuel filter?
Check and clean all the grounds and connections to the battery.
When it was idling, before it stopped, what were you adjusting? Any vacuum line, connector, ground, injector, wire?
Wiggle the main wire to the DME.
Check that all fuses are tight and the connections clean. Replace any fuses that are not ceramic style--no plastic fuses.
When you drained the fuel, could there be an "air pocket" in the lines?
Have you checked the fuel pressure at the rail? The fuel pump could have failed during the "drain & refill" time due to burnout.
Now that there is 5 liters of fuel in the tank, does the new fuel drain out when you remove the fuel line attached to the fuel pump? Could the tank be clogged at the [B]in tank fuel strainer[B]? If the strainer was cut or damaged, a lot of in tank debris could have gotten into the fuel pump.
Is the fuel pump check valve clear?
Do you have spark? Ground a plug on the block or use a noid light.
Is the connection to the AFM on tight? Check to make sure the floating sensor plate/door inside moves freely.
Was the battery discharged at any point and you "jumped" the car with another battery, car or used an energy pack booster?
The battery is fully charged by an overnight slow charge?
Here is a PRO short "no start checklist" Some will sound familiar:
Bennington Motorsports
Have you replaced the DME/Fuel pump relay or used the "jumper"
[B]Does the tach bounce when you crank the engine?[B] (sorry but please answer)
On top of the positive battery post, is the smaller red wire that powers the DME computer, clean, not corroded, tight?
If you have tach bounce, Do you have spark at the plugs?
Check the distributer cap, rotor and wires. Check for 12V at the coil with the key ON.
If all else fails---Clarks trouble shooting the engine:
Troubleshooting - Engine
I hope one of these suggestions helps.
