Best to check that you are able to source a consistent supply of E85 before heading down this path. Theoretically it will be better in Texas, but E85 varies from around E50 or so upwards, depending on season/ temperature, supplier, availability, price, and whatever. Obviously different ratios of ethanol will affect your tune.
An aftermarket programmable ECU with flex fuel capability will compensate accordingly but a stock/ rechipped/ modded DME will only be able to be optimized for a consistent fuel, and not easily at that. Ignition timing can be advanced accordingly but as well as the increased fuel density the AFR & O2 feedback, etc will change creating tuning issues.
