Being DT w/o a car is tough for seeing the sights, Pasadena was actually a good suggestion because the 110 freeway goes right thru DT and right to Pasadena pretty quickly. The other places mentioned are good but the Getty is not close to DT, either as the crow flies or in driving time.

I'm working down in Venice right now and can't believe how bad west side traffic is...it's just another world from Hollywood or where I live. Mind blowing. Took me 1.5 hours to get from Venice to Westwood, (UCLA), @ 7 PM Thurs. night. Then west of the 405 on Sunset, nothing!! 50 mph w/ 3 cars per block on the road! I don't know WTF is going on down there but you could not pay me enough to live/work on the west side.

Sorry for that rant. You can PM me and I'll scoop you up some time if you're around for a few more days, I'm working all day and busy tonight but things should lighten-up in a day or two. I live not too far from DT.
