Their base reference car was a '95 240SX. They didn't say if this was up to spec. at the beginning of the test. Maybe they could have performed the same test on more than one vehicle to confirm the claims.
I'd say; the magazine wants to push product in exchange for more adv. revenue and readers/subscribers.
