My $0.02 on this matter......I have a 3.0 SC running on MS2 v3.0 triggered off the reluctor in the stock dizzy. I had to move (bend slightly) the 6 stator pins in the dizzy as close as possible to the rotor to get reliable triggering of the MS2 in cold (below freezing) weather cold starts.
As far as weak or strong goes, it either triggers or it doesn't, and if it does the MS2 will reliably manage fuel and spark no problem.
