If you like fantasy there are few books as good as the "A Song of ice and fire" series by George RR Martin. Supposed to be 7 books, currently just the first 5 are out:
A Game of Thrones
A Clash of Kings
A Storm of Swords
A Feast for Crows
A Dance with Dragons
Now being made into a TV series. Read the before watching it!!!!
