I saw a little bit of increase in temp but not a lot a degree or so of arc on the gage. the telling indicator (in retrospect) was a knocking sound that I thought was something else but was in fact the disintegration of the impeller over time. Now I know that it was the water pump and know that I should have immediately changed the pump when I first heard the sound.
