I've used a couple of sets of Alusils on my race motor. Old rings once and new rings the second time. Both sets worked fine. I would at least take apart 1 piston to check the wear. This last engine rebuild, I bought some used Nickasil cylinders and bought some pistons from Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport in Portland. You send him the used cylinders and he has them honed to make them even all along the length and fits billet pistons to them. He can set you up with Euro pistons and instructions for Deck height to get about 9.8 compression. I think it was around 2000 dollars plus the donor cylinders.
