Just for adding info to the subject...
Today I was on my way to work. Coming up to a bend in the road at about 70kmph I saw a bus at the apex (travelling the other way) that had pulled up on the other side to let passenger alight. Seeing passengers who had alighted and were now either crossing the road or waiting to cross (illegally) I slowed down to about 40kmph. Two idiots however just didn't look to see cars approaching (me). I hit the brakes hard and moved away from the direction they were walking, until I came to a stop in the middle of the road. I just gave them an evil eye...I was so mad at what could have happened...I looked ahead at the clear road and floored the 87 cab stoking about 4000rpms. The tyres just let loose and I hung a nice fishtail down the road for maybe 10-15m. Didn't get any negative vibes from the car! I know its not good for it, but just once I wanted the full power takeoff. The car was fitted with a new clutch a few months back and driving it for another three hours in traffic directly afterwards, there was no feel of slippage, smell or bad vibes.
I've done some drag racing in Australia and I know the 911's not a dragster, but it gets up some oompha anyways!
I guess I don't mind driving the 911 hard sometimes, as others put it so eloquently - its just metal made of parts that bolt off and on. It just takes $ and passion.
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers
Mark
