The turtle wax is only 10 bucks and will be more aggressive than plexus. I would try it before attempting to replace it. You may run into sewing issues if your canvas is old and frail. Just a suggestion. It did an awesome job on my Infiniti headlights which gave me the idea to try it on my vinyl window.
