Strange high-pitched whining coming from under or near the gear-shifter, almost in the center console armrest area it seems. A metallic sound, somewhat grating, it appears during acceleration in third and fourth gear (ish) and stays upon deceleration. Putting in the clutch makes it go away completely. The sound modulates when I play with the accelerator pedal.
I'm a bit worried...
It's not there at idle and doesn't appear generally until the point from shifting 2 to 3
