As for your last line... you might want to watch him race without having a cup of koolaid before the races.. If he really still was as good as you want him to be, would he be outperformed by his (presumably less skilled) team mate over and over again - on the same bike, no less?
That was, one of the reasons why he left Yamaha...
My money is on him either forming is own team or him staying with Ducati, for the aforementioned reasons of him still being THE best seller of merchandise.
