9FF is correct.

However, at some point ABS became standard on the 944 Turbo, I think in 1988. If not then, surely 1989, because I think it was standard on the 1988 Turbo S. Standard I think on the S2. I cannot vouch for if and when it became standard on the S and NA.

It's quite easy to tell if a car came from the factory with ABS - look in the fuse panel. The spot for the ABS relay - if there's a stock-looking block off plate in that spot, good chance it didn't come with ABS.

The 1987+ Turbo Cup cars all came with ABS as well, albeit a racing version of it (completely different from stock), including a switch to turn it off.

As for SRS, I believe that is a specific 'generation' of airbag - I do not know which genereation came in the 944.

However, airbags were stock on the 1987 944 Turbo, optional on the 944S (very rare), and I imagine optional on the 944NA but I've never seen an NA with airbags, including an '89. The S2 came stock with airbags.

Trivia fact: I believe the 1987 944 Turbo was the first car in the world to be offered in a market with standard driver and passenger airbags.

Take care!
