I second the vote for SSIs. I drove a '76 911 around for years with headers. Even in Alabama (where I lived at the time), the lack of heat was an adverse impact. Not only did long drives in temps below 10C or so chill me to the bone (it's amazing how cold you can get when you just sit there for hours), one of the biggest drawbacks was the lack of the ability to defrost the windshield.
