This may actually be due to the shifter adjustment.

I have found that the Porsche Short Shift Kit will do this if not adjusted correctly.

the standard shifter will do it as well......

I would recommend adjusting your shifter and the following is a useful guide:

If the problem persists it may well be an internal issue which means some wonga to put right
