Hi Mike,
I bought a set of Corbeau FX1 seats for my 78 SC which I was intending to be primarily an AutoX and time trial car. I checked out a lot of fixed back seats (sat in them) and by far the most comfortable and best fitting for me (6'3, 185lbs, 34 waist, wide shoulders) was the FX1 seats. Next best fit was the Sparco Evo II but could still feel pinch pressure on the side of my shoulders, just not as comfortable and holes for harness would just barely allow proper orientation on my collar bone/shoulders.

I wasn't planning to do any wheel to wheel racing so I wasn't too concerned about FIA rating. If a DE or time trail required it, I was just planning to add a seat back brace.

I had previously read and heard Corbeau seats were not that good, but maybe that was with the older models. Not sure about other's experience, but when I looked at the new Corbeau's and compared them to other fiberglass seats, they looked to be of similar quality (albeit without the FIA sticker). I eventually did not install the seats and will be selling them because I have decided to take the car into more of a street focus and will install recliners. So my search for a sporty but comfortable reclining seat starts, but I will check out the Corbeau recliners first.

I suggest you sit in as many different seats as possible and decide based on intended use (for serious racing get a FIA seat) and comfort.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
