The LED strip was from eBay, here. The LEDs could stand to be a touch brighter, but they still seem bright enough to me, especially mounted high at the top of the window.

The metal bracket is a scrap piece of thin sheet steel, bent into a tight V with one side taller than the other. The taller side of the V slips between the glass and the seal inside the car, the strip light attaches to the exposed side of the short leg of the V using double-sided tape. The picture below is taken from the passenger side inside the car, with the right edge pulled out of the seal a bit to show the bracket.
