Here is an update on my problem. The 02 wire was cut/broke in four places. One at the sensor itself, the second at the connector, and the third and fourth breaks were at both ends of the orange connector. I ended up by-passing the orange connector thing and hooking up the O2 sensor directly to the green wire. The green wire on the wiring harness side of the orange thing contains two wires in it. I connected the sensor to the middle wire and left the other wire disconnected. I don't know if the sensor is working correctly now or not. There is a couple of good pictures in the Haynes manual under the subject of intake manifold removal or something. It shows a two terminal connector connected to the O2 sensor. I'm thinking this is for heated 02 sensors. The car seems to be running pretty good now. Mostly because I plugged up a huge vacuum leak; it made a huge difference in the way the car idles. It's real smooth now. The vacuum leak was located between the intake manifold and the head. Cylinders 3 and 4 were both leaking.
