This sucks, I'm sorry to hear it. If you do fix it up then you should consider fixing it up "and then some." Otherwise you're spending a whole lot of money to get right back to where you were, which isn't very satisfying. Spending a couple thousand more to get something you're excited about might make the whole experience a little more palatable.
