Actually, that specific rec was from

The spooky thing is... I was thinking of the lambda sensors and plugs as I wrote my bit but I was over the "too freakin' many words" limit.
I replaced all four sensors in my 2007 Z4M coupe shortly after purchase in 2011 and the difference in performance was night and day.
This stuff can drive you crazy. If there is no surging or lurching and everything else seems smooth... do the basic maintenance and get out and ride.
