Rust would be a big concern since the 74 was not galvanized like your SC. As for the 2.7, I dont own one but looked at many cars with them. Like any Porsche motor it has its issues. I found over the years that the SC and Carerra (3.0 and 3.2) motors seem to be more or less trouble free but we all know that you should put the Tensioners in your SC motor and keep an eye on you ECU in your Carrrera motor. A well sorted 2.7 is just as good as any other motor.
